Behavior Modification
Sit, Stay, Home uses the Least Intrusive Minimally Aversive framework, or LIMA, for training and behavior modification. This approach focuses on positive reinforcement where the dog is rewarded for exhibiting the behavior that's been asked of them. We are committed to a Fear Free approach to dog training and behavior modification. Consistent with the LIMA strategy and Fear Free approach, we do not use or recommend prong collars, choke chains, shock collars, citronella spray collars, invisible fence collars, or any other tools or methods that produce fear in the dog. You can rest assured, that your dog will never be purposely harmed by a Sit, Stay, Home behavior specialist in order to achieve a result.
The cornerstone of behavior modification is having a detailed, specific, and actionable plan designed to address and modify specific behavioral issues exhibited by a dog. A Sit, Stay, Home behavior specialist will work with you to create a plan that's achievable, and will be with you every step of the way providing support and guidance toward reaching your goals.
Your written plan will include:
Assessment and Diagnosis
Your Goals
Environmental Modifications
Positive Reinforcement Training Techniques

You will also receive regular written assessments after each session. and we'll make adjustments along the way as necessary. Once you and your dog have completed your behavior program, we will provide you with a long-term maintenance plan.
